Protecting Your Vessel This Holiday

The Christmas season is the opportunity for us to slow down time - if we let it.

It invites reflection. Gratitude. Stillness.
And as I look back on 2025 - what our family has walked through, what I’ve navigated personally with my health, motherhood, business and life - I keep coming back to one central truth:

I have to remember who I am… and who created me to be.

I don’t often talk openly about my faith. Not because it isn’t important - quite the opposite. Sometimes it’s because I feel like I’m still learning, still growing, still unsure how to articulate something that feels deeply personal and sacred.

But spiritual wellness is a cornerstone of my life.

As a mom of four.
As a mom to a medically complex child.
As a wife, a business owner, a coach, a friend.
And ultimately, as a child of God.

That connection - to something greater than myself - is what anchors me. It’s what steadies me when life feels heavy. It’s what convicts me to show up in certain areas of my life, even when it’s uncomfortable.

And it’s why I feel called to serve - both as a mother and as a health coach.

I know, without a doubt, that I am here to share our story. To talk about medical complexity. To talk about evolving health. To talk about what women need as their bodies, lives and responsibilities change. And today, especially through this Christmas season, I want to talk about health through a spiritual lens.

Remember - Your Body Is a Vessel Worth Protecting. And I want to share this piece of scripture with you…

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

When I reflect on that, it reframes everything.

Our bodies are not something to punish, ignore or run into the ground. They are not something to shame or harm or feel resentful over. They are vessels - uniquely and wonderfully made. They are the one tangible thing we are entrusted with caring for in this life.

We get one body. One life.
One opportunity to live fully - not just survive.

So as women - we have to remember that protecting our health isn’t about perfection. It’s not about control. It’s about stewardship. It’s about honoring the miracle of being alive and doing our best - imperfectly, consistently - to keep our vessel healthy, vibrant and supported for ourselves and the people we love most.

Another scripture that speaks deeply to me, especially as a woman and a mother, is this:

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

So many women are exhausted during this season - but really, all year long.
Burned out. Carrying invisible loads.
Pouring endlessly into everyone and everything around them…while quietly running on empty.

The world tells us to keep going. To push harder. To do more. To “keep up!”

But that is NOT the way.
In fact - it’s the exact opposite of what our vessels truly crave.

So in a season like Christmas - be reminded that rest is not a reward.
It’s not laziness. It’s not weakness.

It’s a MAJOR part of the design behind our bodies as a whole.
And it’s required in order to feel our wholeness.

Yes! God calls us to love, to serve, to show up - but He also calls us to stay connected, to reflect, to guard our energy and to nourish our bodies. If you’re feeling weary or burdened in this season, my hope is that you give yourself permission to go to Him for rest. To pause. To breathe. To receive.

The third scripture I want to share feels especially relevant in this stage of life:

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
— Proverbs 4:23

Over the past few years, I’ve learned a lot about boundaries. Maybe you have on your journey to?

I’ve had to let go of people, places and seasons that no longer felt aligned. Not out of bitterness or fear, but out of discernment. Guarding your heart doesn’t mean shutting down. It means protecting your energy, your wellness and your capacity to show up fully where you’re truly called.

Our culture glorifies over-giving. And here’s a truth I’ve had to learn the hard way:

Helping others at the expense of your own health is not a gift.

You can pour into your children.
Your marriage.
Your work.
Your community.

But if you keep pouring without replenishing - without protecting your vessel, guarding your heart and honoring your need for rest - you eventually lose yourself.

I know this because I’ve lived it.

I’ve walked through burnout. Through seasons of deep confusion and exhaustion. And when I look back, those were the moments I felt furthest from God and furthest from caring for myself. I wasn’t protecting my vessel - I was simply surviving inside it.

So today, I’ll leave you with this:

You don’t need to do more.
You don’t need to fix everything.
You don’t need to prove your worth

Just BEING is enough.

Slow down. Reflect. Be grateful. Protect your vessel.

Because we get one shot. One life. And choosing to live in a way that supports your health - physically, emotionally and spiritually - will always be worth the effort, even when it isn’t easy.

May this season and the remainder of 2025 bring you rest, clarity and peace. Merry Christmas! ❤️
